IUL · Indexed Universal Life
Protect your family while building potential cash value.
More than life insurance — a flexible financial tool that combines coverage for your loved ones with the potential to grow cash value over time.
How index crediting works
Growth potential with protection
against negative index returns.
Interest credited to your cash value is based on an index like the S&P 500, without being invested in the market. When the index rises, interest is credited up to a cap. When it falls, a 0% floor means a negative return isn't credited — though policy fees and charges still apply and can reduce cash value.
Illustration only — not a projection of any policy. Caps, floors and participation rates vary by policy and may change. Policy fees and charges still apply.
What IUL offers
Four things,
one policy.
Protection today, a resource during your lifetime, and income for later.
Life insurance protection
At its core, an IUL provides a death benefit — so if the unexpected happens, your loved ones have the resources they need for stability and peace of mind.
Cash value growth potential linked to an index
Your cash value can earn interest based on a market index such as the S&P 500, without being directly invested in the stock market. A cap limits the interest credited, and a floor (often 0%) keeps negative index returns from being credited. Policy fees and charges still apply.
Potential tax-advantaged retirement income
You may access cash value in retirement through policy loans or withdrawals, often on a tax-advantaged basis — a potential supplement to other retirement savings. Loans and withdrawals reduce cash value and death benefit.
Access for emergencies
Medical bills, education costs or other financial needs — you may be able to use available cash value. Not just protection, but a potential living resource.
Income later in life
Explore the potential for
supplemental retirement income.
Many people worry about making their savings last. A permanent life insurance policy may become an additional source of income later in life.

$104,755

Access your cash value
A permanent policy can build cash value that you can reach through policy loans or withdrawals — a potential source of income in retirement.4
Lifetime income options on eligible policies
On eligible policies, the Lifetime Income Benefit Rider may provide income for life if its requirements are met — generally ages 60 to 85, with the policy in force at least 10 years and enough cash value. When it's available it's included automatically. Income payments reduce cash value and death benefit, and a monthly charge applies during the income period.5
Income from a policy could help pay for
- Long-term care
- Travel and vacation
- Housing expenses
- Regular bills
- Paying down debt
Why families choose IUL
Built to do
more than one thing.
Dual purpose
A safety net if the unexpected happens, and cash value that may grow into a resource you can use during your lifetime.
Flexibility
Adjust premiums, death benefits and cash value allocation as your career, income and family evolve.
Downside protection
A floor helps protect against negative index returns, while you may benefit from index gains up to a cap. Fees and charges still apply.
Legacy
Long-term protection through the death benefit, plus cash value for retirement, emergencies or major life expenses.
Leave a legacy
Your policy's death benefit helps secure the future for the people you leave behind — your family, your business, or the causes you care about.
Important details
Policy loans and withdrawals reduce the policy's cash value and/or death benefit. Loans become taxable if the policy lapses or is surrendered, and taking out too much can cause the policy to lapse. For permanent life insurance, only loans and withdrawals may be tax-free; withdrawals up to the basis paid in and loans after that won't create an immediate taxable event, but lapse or surrender could have substantial tax consequences. The Lifetime Income Benefit Rider is optional, available at policy issue, and provides income for the insured's life if certain conditions are met — including an attained age between 60 and 85, the policy being in force at least 10 years, and sufficient cash value. Outstanding loans, insufficient policy values and other factors may restrict using the rider. Income payments reduce cash value and death benefit and may end or reduce other riders, and there is a monthly charge from the accumulated value during the income period. Guarantees depend on the claims-paying ability of the issuing company. This is not tax or legal advice.
